101 Ways to Help the Environment!

There are many things you can do to help save the environment and your pixies homeland! Some of them may require the help of your parents or someone older, so make sure you talk to your parents about the things you’ve learned. Together you can figure out which things you’d like to try.

Remember, you may not be able to do all of the things on this list, or even half of them, but every little bit helps the pixies and our planet!

  1. Recycle plastic bottles
  2. Recycle aluminum cans
  3. Plant a tree
  4. Use energy saving light bulbs in your house
  5. Turn off lights when leaving a room
  6. Ride your bike or walk to a friend’s house if they live close by and your parent say its OK.
  7. Have a garage sale instead of throwing your old stuff away
  8. Use re-useable shopping bags at the grocery store
  9. Use rechargeable batteries instead of disposable ones
  10. Dispose of hazardous materials properly
  11. Bring your lunch to school in reusable containers
  12. Build a bird house for your backyard.
  13. Recycle paper.
  14. Take shorter showers.
  15. Turn off and unplug your TV when you’re not watching it.
  16. Make sure video games are turned off when not in use.
  17. Turn off computers at night on when you leave the house.

  92. Read labels. Find out about a product’s ingredients and whether it contains anything that might be hazardous to your health or the environment.
  93. Visit a recycling center. There’s a lot you can learn.
  94. Use all natural candles made from soy or bees wax.
  95. Educate others about the environment.

  97. Use a ceiling fan instead of an air conditioner.
  98. Avoid toys and products made with PVC or other materials that are toxic or will never biodegrade.
